Louisiana Tech encourages its faculty and students to disclose inventions that may lead to patents or other forms of intellectual property. Innovation through university-based research has been demonstrated to be one of the key drivers for economic growth.

Interdisciplinary research provides a rich environment for innovation as new discoveries are made at the interface of traditional disciplines. Louisiana Tech encourages interdisciplinary research through its research centers, institutes, and other intellectual forums.
