Resource Network Coordinator for the Online Network for Entrepreneurs (ONE)

Job Description
Gain valuable career experience working with public agencies, service organizations, professional advisors, and other resources that support business development and growth.

Duties
Coordinate online resource network for technology-based business service providers in north Louisiana. Help staff the information and referral phone line.

Detailed Work Activities
Identify and recruit appropriate resource network partners. Establish and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with resource partners. Collect and disseminate information on regional business service providers. Maintain accurate, relevant resource network and business support system information for region. Provide training, assistance and support for resource partners. Maintain and staff resource referral hotline. Respond to requests for information and make appropriate referrals to network partners. Retain records and prepare reports demonstrating network performance. Make presentations to partner organizations, community groups, and individuals. Complete administrative tasks and other assignments as needed for effective TBDC operations.

Work Conditions
Majority of work to take place at TBDC office. Some off-campus activities such as client site visits, training delivery, and information gathering may be required. Work hours typically occur during normal work week, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Some evening and weekend work may be required in order to accommodate client needs and training schedules. Hours of work per week and work schedule will be consistent with University policies for graduate and undergraduate student employees. Anticipated work schedule 15 - 20 hours per week.

Qualifications
Graduate students preferred. Senior and junior level students will also be considered. Undergraduate degree in business preferable. Social sciences, human ecology, counseling, or other majors may apply. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good customer service, active listening, public speaking, and time management skills. Proficient use of English language. Understanding of group dynamics and inter-agency relations. Capable of learning entrepreneurial process and business jargon. Ability to interact well with resource partners, businesses, general public, elected officials, and University faculty and staff. Confidential and ethical treatment of all information obtained through work with TBDC.
